CROSS Outreach Fall Fundraiser Makes Bank: $25,000+ Raised to Fight Homelessness
CROSS Outreach held its inaugural Fabulous Fall Fundraiser on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Heartland Presbyterian Church in Des Moines. We are so appreciative to everyone who came out to show support for our mission.It was a great evening, marked by delicious food, cordial company, a fun trivia game, and a silent auction featuring some fabulous prizes. The outpouring of generosity raised over $25,000 to prevent homelessness through compassion.The CROSS Outreach Board and Staff would like to give a special shout-out to the host, Heartland Presbyterian, our silent auction donors, and the small but mighty team who came together to make this event such a success.We are truly grateful to everyone who supported CROSS at the fundraiser and continues…

Thank you so much for your support of CROSS Outreach in the past. Founded over 50 years ago on the vision of “Preventing Homelessness with Compassion” CROSS continues to provide a bit of breathing room for those who find themselves in the tight places of life. As the number of requests CROSS receives continues to increase, we work to faithfully help where we can, and strive to provide more households with emergency assistance going forward. Currently, CROSS receives roughly 400 monthly requests. At this time, we can assist roughly 30 households per month. Our goal is to triple that number, assisting 90 households per month by 2027. A great BIG thank you from CROSS Outreach Back-to-School Giveaway 2025!
Thank you so very much for your volunteer efforts and resources for our 2025 CROSS Outreach 33rd annual BACK-TO-SCHOOL GIVEAWAY. Last month’s work from you and other generous and committed volunteers created two fun, productive and exciting evenings. We sincerely appreciate your help. You and the other volunteers quickly and efficiently sorted and packed 1,600 backpacks of school supplies which will be distributed to area school kids aged Head Start-Senior High School! 400 backpacks for Head Start-2nd graders; 400 backpacks for 3rd-5th graders; 400 backpacks for 6th-8th graders; and 400 backpacks for 9th-12th graders.
